Feburary 18, 2010 – BAL Regular Business Meeting

Meeting Called to Order

Move to accept the minutes of the November 2009 Meeting

– Copies of the minutes will be emailed and will be on hand.

Treasurer's Report: Butch Flake

Gallery Chairman's Report: Jim Teague

Old business:

– Alamance Community College opening their "Scott property" for after hours use.

– Other old business

New Business

– Senior Art Competition - entries will be accepted on April 26th and 27th, and is open to artists

over age 60.

– Discuss the idea of having an artists event at the Mall for all artists of Alamance county. Use

vacant stores to have artists set up a studio setting of their art for two consecutive week-ends.

– Member Carl Allen is serious condition at Moses Cone Hospital.

– Mira Pawlus to be part of a art class exhibit and open reception at Harrison's restaurant as part

of Marty's art classes.

– TylerD exhibit of Alamance Artisans Members: Several BAL members are part of that exhibit.

– Carolyn and Jim will have the month of March as their featured artists exhibit at the gallery.

The opening reception will be Sunday, March 7, from 2 until 4 pm.

– Other new business and show announcements.

Notes from the last meeting:

We did not have a quorum at the January 15th meeting. The only people present were Jamie, Brenda,

Oskar, Jim and non-member Freo.

We had the treasurer report and Gallery report.

Talked about the Bake Sale and were not very optimistic about it.ever happening.

Talked about the Caswell Show

Alamance Community College opens their "Scott property" for after-hour use.

Discussed reducing age limit of members. Not feasable because of Gallery/Mall requirements.

Discussed a discount "Student Membership" price to Elon Students or other college students.

We discussed several avenues of advertising:

– Ad in the Movie Theater

– Public service annoucement on channel 14

– WBAC Sunday morning programming with Dale Steele – Posibility of radio ads?
