The Small Arts Competition will hang in the month of February.  Work is due for the competition on January 26th and 27th.  This judged competition is only open to BAL members and features prizes of $150, $100, and $75 to our First, Second, and Third Place winners.

The art piece including the frame must not exceed the unified measurement of 32”.  To calculate the maximum size permitted, add the two adjacent sides of width inches and height inches together.  If the sum total of the two sides is more than 32 inches, the entry is too large.  Maximum size uses the outside measurement of the frame, if the presentation includes a frame.  Examples of acceptable sizes would include, but not be limited to the following combinations of 14”x18”, 16”x16”, 12”x20” or any other combination that has a sum of 32 inches.

The Featured artists for the month of March is: Jim and Carolyn Teague.
Their reception will be Sunday, March 7  at 2:00.

Lee Capps will be the featured artist in April.  His reception will be announced at a later date.

Be sure to send me information about your upcoming shows and events so that I can put it in the next newsletter!

We are still looking for another volunteer to help Lois Cain so-chair a bake sale to benefit the BAL and the Arts Council or the Children's Museum.  The volunteer will help communicate with membership about the event, and plan a date, time, location, and advertise the event.  If you are interested in helping, please let me know!

ACC has written the BAL to let us know that they would like to open their campus to community programs and classes in the evenings and on weekends.  If you are interested in using the facilities at ACC, you can do so free of charge.  You will need to notify ACC to be sure that they are available at your desired time.  If you are interested in more information, let me know
