Welcome to the membership of the Burlington Artists League.  From the inception of the BAL, the purpose of the league was and continues to be to promote and provide local artists opportunities to display their talents at public locations.  Artwork of members is not judged for acceptance.  The public will have the opportunity to view the artists’ work and reach their own personal opinion concerning the art.  New and exciting activities are in the works at the BAL, and your input will be appreciated toward the implementation of these planned advancements.

 An important aspect of your membership in the BAL community is the connections and friendships that our organization fosters.  Your membership is about opportunities to display art, but it is also about opportunities to meet many artists and art lovers in the community.  I urge you to take advantage of the many skills represented in our organization, and take the time to come to events and meetings, call or email your board members, and take advantage of the chance to meet your fellow BAL members. You will find enclosed your membership card and a membership roster. Your membership card will provide you with a 20% discount at Michael’s and some framers and art supply shops in the area may also allow discounts when the card is presented.  As a BAL member you are eligible to exhibit your artwork in the BAL Fine Arts Gallery. A gallery exhibiting application and regulations are available at the gallery.  Talk to a gallery host for more information.

Entry fees for Members to exhibit in BAL sponsored shows are reduced compared to those for non-members.  Monthly newsletters with league activities and information about opportunities to participate in area shows and competitions are emailed to each member.  If you do not have email, please call Carolyn or Emogene to let them know that copies should be mailed to you.
